Go – Gather – Grow is born! Yay!
Though there are hundreds if not thousands of Christian women bloggers, there is always room for one more! Not that I’m squeezing in line but there are so many more women who need to hear of God’s love, mercy, grace and forgiveness. That is my story that I will be sharing with you and it comes from the perspective of living in an abusive marriage for almost 30 years. So I understand what it’s like as I’ve been there.
Before I started this blog, I read many faith based blogs and loved them all! I got into the DIY blogs on creating coconut oil based products, love’em and still make my own! I scoured Pinterest for Weight Watchers recipes and made many yummy dishes! Oh, and the primitive and vintage decor! My fav! But for my own blog site, that is not where my heart lies. My calling is faith based, sharing the Word of God, one by one, with women from all walks of life.
Let me tell you a story first. A few years ago, either someone mentioned it to me or the Lord did, that I should get into blogging. I didn’t think much of it at the time. Then about six months ago, I went on a weekend trip to White Rock with a girlfriend and while we were there, I read to her some posts that I’d put out for my WW (Weight Watchers) Facebook page. We had started a new challenge of Back to the Basics and I volunteered to take on the second week of the challenge. I was to write a post, one a day for seven days. Anyway, I was reading them to Donna when she said, “Have you ever thought about blogging?”
Really? Was God trying to get my attention? Then in January of this year, I saw that there was a Blogging Course starting up soon at the Elder College. So I signed up, thinking I’d just go get information so I’d know what it was about.
Well, wouldn’t you know it! I started research on how to start a blog and from there, the excitement grew and one thing led to another and before the Blogging Course started, I had my own blog site up! I still had a lot of work to do to get it ready but I was now ahead of the others in the class.
Go – Gather – Grow is based on Matthew 28:19, 20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (NKJV)
Go = Go therefore
Gather = Make disciples, baptize them
Grow = Teach them
We do this one by one. Certainly through the internet it is one by one. And though I may not always know when someone has been reached, or a heart has been touched and changed, God knows. He sees. He hears.
It’s interesting how that name came to me. I certainly didn’t plan it. In fact I hadn’t even thought about it. I was more interested in a name that would match my photography, Moments Like These, but they were not available. So, after looking at many different names, looking for the right fit, God very quietly spoke into my spirit “Go Gather Grow.” Just a whisper. Immediately I knew that it fit the goals and plans for this blog.
I’d heard of “Go Gather Grow” before. If you search the internet, you will see many churches have this or a variation of it as their tagline, mission statement or sermon titles. And now God was giving it to me as my blog site name! Thank You Father!
So while I’m very transparent in my blogs, sharing what only a few friends know, I do it only to help others. I know that we all have a story to tell and through my painful past, if I can encourage even one woman to remain strong in her faith, then it is all worth it.
Go – Gather – Grow is all about sharing the Word of God, one by one, and the message of God’s love, mercy and grace. And because I have received it so freely, I can extend it to others who need it!
Well, dear friends, if anything I have said in any of my blogs has touched you in anyway, please don’t be shy. Leave me a comment telling me that you’ve been touched. And when you do, I will know that this has all been worth it to the glory of God!
Now, with that said, it’s time to launch Go – Gather – Grow!
